Discussion Boards

When I started this section, there wasn't much to put in it. Today, there are discussion boards/forums for SG-1 popping up all over the place. Here are a few dedicated boards (meaning they are the main purpose of the site, rather than being embedded inside other content) that have been around awhile.

Gaters Forum

Probably the board with the greatest activity currently. Runs on UBB, so it is rather slow loading.

SG1Web: BetaSite Forums

My other SG-1 site, running on vBulletin (PHP/MySQL), which opened in early December 1999 as a refuge for members of the former SG-1.Net community.

MGM Discussions

The discussion forums on the official MGM site. Very hard to use, and they require you to log in separately for each board. Still, they are the only "official" forums.

Mailing Lists

There are more Stargate-related lists out there than you can count, with over a hundred on Yahoo! (formerly Onelist) alone. Here are a few of the larger ones to get you started.

SG1 is devoted to discussion of all things relating to Stargate -- be it the Devlin/ Emmerich movie, Showtime's hit series "Stargate SG-1", books, the actors and actresses other projects, Egyptology, mythology, the workings of the Stargate, spoilers, whatever.

GateGoers is a list for folks who are planning to attend one of the Gatecon events. It is a terrific resource for matching people up with roommates, ride sharing, and general development of community before, during, and after the con.
